Not Catholic?
Are you interested in becoming Catholic?

There are several possibilities for what you are looking for:

Have you been baptized yet? If you have never been baptized or if you have been baptized into a Christian faith other than Catholic, you may become Catholic by participating in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (R.C.I.A.). Classes for R.C.I.A. are usually held on Monday evenings from September to Easter. Candidates (non-Catholic baptized Christians) are brought into full communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil Mass which involves receiving the Sacrament of Confession a week prior and then at the Easter Vigil Mass itself, being Confirmed and receiving First Holy Communion. Catechumens (non-baptized persons) are baptized, Confirmed and make their First Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil Mass. Contact the parish office if interested. (If you have already been baptized Catholic, see our section on how to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Also, if you or your current or intended spouse have been married before, please contact one of the priests at the parish so he can help clarify what steps ought to be taken prior to acceptance in the R.C.I.A. program).

Are you looking to get your baby baptized? Parents who wish to have their baby baptized into the Catholic Church must attend a baptism class if it is the first baby they are having baptized. Contact the parish office for details on class dates and requirements for godparents. All English baptisms are held the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Are you interested in the Sacrament of Confirmation? All baptized Catholics high school age and older may receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during the weekend of Pentecost Sunday. Adult Confirmation classes are typically held between March and April. Children not high school age or older must go through our parish CCD program. Anyone not baptized into a Christian denomination must go through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Contact the parish office if interested.

Regardless of whether you are in need of Baptism, Confirmation, or both, check out the “Education” section of our website for more information. Then call our office at (703) 684-9261 and let us know how we can help!
