Afghan refugees make up the majority of people resettled in Northern Virginia by Migration and Refugee Services of the Diocese of Arlington.

Many arrive in the U.S. with nothing but the clothes on their backs...

Forced to Flee: A migrant's story of Hope

Afghan allies often wait years for SIV approval

Our Lady of Lourdes is partnering with Migration and Refugee Services to adopt a family of 8 Afghan refugees.

Migration and Refugee Services is a department within Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington. They are working with the State Department to resettle the family, and Our Lady of Lourdes is supporting their efforts.

We will help by provisioning their new home. Items needed include bedding, linens and towels, and cookware and tableware. All items must be new.

Here's how you can help...

Please make your check out to “Migration and Refugee Services – CCDA" and add “OLOL Donation Drive” in the memo space. Monetary Donations should be dropped off in the Our Lady of Lourdes Poor Box within the main church.
