OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CELEBRATION

Our Hispanic Parishioners, Hospitality Team, and Knights of Columbus put on a party!

Fr. Edlefsen celebrated the Spanish Mass on December 10, the Second Sunday of Advent.   After Mass, there was a big dinner celebration in a packed parish hall  in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe - patroness of the Americas - with mariachis providing music and fun.   The Virgin of Guadalupe was adorned with roses and lights, with a statue of St. Juan Diego kneeling at her side in adoration and prayer.   The story behind the celebration goes back to the year 1531, when Mary appeared to Juan Diego and introduced herself as the Mother of God and the Mother of all humanity.   The story of Our Lady of Guadalupe recalls a joyful event, like a joyful mystery of the Rosary.  The joy of the December 10 celebration at Our Lady of Lourdes parish hall put everyone in touch with the deeper joy of Mary's intercession in our lives.   Special thanks to our entire Hispanic community, our Hospitality Team, and the Knights of Columbus.    Our parish is at its best when it comes togeother, in the companionship of our common Baptism and our faith in Jesus Christ!
