Mass to Pray for an End to Human Trafficking
Wednesday, July 10, 7:00 p.m.
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
830 23rd St S
Arlington, VA 22202
All are invited to attend a Mass to pray for an end to human trafficking in all its forms.
The Mass will be said in memory of Barbara Amaya, who was herself trafficked from the time she was 12 until she was 22 years old. Barbara was a long-time advocate in the battle against the buying and selling of human beings for any purpose, sharing her personal story and teaching audiences around the world how to identify potential trafficking situations and how to respond to suspicious situations.
Please join us as we gather to pray for freedom for those in captivity; healing for those who have escaped lives in slavery; courage, consolation, and healing for their family and friends; and conversion of the hearts of the buyers and sellers, to bring an end to this abuse of human dignity.
Barbara was received into the Catholic Church at Our Lady of Lourdes shortly before she passed away. She was consoled by the Sacraments and received into the Light of God's infinite peace and goodness.
Mass will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
