The Knights of Columbus are hosting a Sacred Heart Holy Hour on Friday, November 7th from 7-8pm in the Church featuring an icon depicting the most famous image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, painted in 1767 by Pompeo Batoni and now venerated in the Church of the Gesù in Rome. The icon has been blessed by Pope Francis and will be at OLOL for only one night as it travels around the world.
Father Edlefsen has offered to extend the normal First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 3:00 - 7:00 PM as part of this spiritual opportunity. We need at least 2 people per half-hour period to commit to be present with our Lord during Adoration and Exposition, as our Lord cannot be left alone.
The Sacred Heart Holy Hour includes readings from Sacred Scripture and reflections from Pope Francis on the Sacred Heart, as well as the Divine Mercy Chaplet, prayers to the Sacred Heart and time for silent prayer. Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will precede the holy hour from 3-7pm.
