Mission in the Dominican Republic

Father Steve Mcgraw will make our annual Mission Appeal for the Diocese of Arlington's mission in the Dominican Republic

A missionary partnership between the Diocese of Arlington, VA, and the Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana, in the Dominican Republic, the Bánica Mission has created a special bond between the two communities of faithful.

In addition to the day-to-day administration of the parochial needs, the Bánica Mission runs several extracurricular  programs for families and students in the mission. These additional programs are funded entirely by private donations from parishioners with the Diocese of Arlington. These programs are designed to provide financial assistance, or spiritual and educational enrichment.

  • Jovenes Misioneros Scholarship Program: Provides full tuition scholarships to students attending college in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.

  • Sponsor a Family Program: Assists selected families with food and medical expenses.

  • Sponsor a Seminarian Program: Assists students at the seminary with living and educational expenses as they study and prepare for the priesthood.
